Youth Environmental Stewardship Forum 2018
We would like to invite you to participate in our Youth Environmental Stewardship (YES) Forum 2018
Date: 27 July, Friday
Venue: ITE College West [1 Choa Chu Kang Grove, Singapore 688236][/1]
In this 6th YES Forum, the forum theme is “GREEN URBAN YOUTHS: The Fourth R: REFUSE” which aims to help youths brainstorm the possibilities of raising awareness of reducing unnecessary waste from using disposable foam cups, foam plates, foam boxes in our daily lives! This must be done through intentionally refusing the use of this disposables and creating a green urban living and sustainable lifestyles right from the present. It is a moral imperative.
The Youth Environmental Stewardship (YES) Forum is a yearly event organised by Asian Journeys Ltd, an active partner with the National Youth Council (NYC) since 2002 in youth service-learning programmes. This year’s YES Forum is organised by Asian Journeys’ Green Desert Club comprising students from universities and supported by ITE Student Volunteer Corps and ITE College East Green Desert YEP teams who have journeyed to Inner Mongolia for the Green Desert projects.
This Youth Forum is organised by the Youths, for the Youths in Singapore. It seeks to gather, motivate and inspire like-minded Youths in Singapore on how they can play a part in responsible stewardship of the earth with an engaging programme put up by youths. Through messages, presentations and performing arts put up by university and tertiary students, interactive small group discussion and learning, as well as opportunities for participants to go on stage to present their creative ideas on green urban living, we hope each of these participants will be on their way to become creative and responsible environmental stewards in your schools.
We look forward to having your students, especially class monitors and members of the Environment Club, join us in this life-changing experience. We enclose 2 copies of the YES Forum poster for your school’s use in raising awareness on this event and on environmental stewardship. You may also email us at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information and registration details!
